How this series is made
Every piece in “Eighteen months, every day” starts as first-hand material: dictated accounts of systems I have actually built and run, checked against my own logs, databases and version history.
The token counts, benchmarks and before-and-after figures are measured, not recalled, and each article says in its notes where every number comes from.
The drafting is AI-assisted, and deliberately so. I dictate; hours of interviews turn the raw material into a draft; the draft then goes through fact-checking with live searches, a technical review by an adversarial reader, a panel of target-group readers, and an originality check against what is already published, before I approve a word of it. Most pieces go through eight or more versions. The words are mine; the packaging is the tool’s; the receipts are in the notes.
That is also the point of the series. You never get out more than you put in, and these articles are the method applied to itself: real input, checked output, and a human who decides. A longer piece on this process, with its own numbers, comes later in the series.
